Movement Analysis

The way you move relates to how you feel. Our Physiotherapist is highly trained in biomechanical analysis which looks at the way you move from every day tasks to high performance sports. The human body is like a puzzle and if all parts are not moving well together, this can lead to pain, dysfunction, injury and reduced performance. As a result, we want to optimise the way you move to improve your performance, whether that be with every day tasks, general exercise or elite sport.

Watching how you move can give excellent insight into what may be causing your pain and can also be used preventatively to reduce the risk of injury. Used in conjunction with strength testing and analysis, at Live Bright Physiotherapy we can tailor exercise programs to improve the way you move and improve performance.

What is Movement Analysis?

Movement Analysis is a detailed evaluation of how you move, focusing on your biomechanics, alignment, and functional patterns. This analysis helps identify any imbalances, or areas of strain that could lead to injury or impact performance. Our goal is to provide you with insights and recommendations to improve your movement quality and overall physical function.

Key Components of Movement Analysis

Comprehensive Assessment:

  • Thorough evaluation of your movement patterns, including walking, running, jumping, and other activities specific to your needs.

  • Detailed examination of posture, alignment, and range of motion.

Biomechanical Analysis:

  • Examination of range of motion, muscle activation, and movement efficiency.

  • Identification of any asymmetries, compensations, or abnormal patterns.

Functional Movement Screening:

  • Assessment of basic movement patterns to detect potential risk factors for injury.

  • Evaluation of flexibility, stability, and strength through specific tests.

Personalised Recommendations:

  • Development of a customised plan to address identified issues and improve movement quality.

  • Guidance on exercises, techniques, and modifications to enhance performance and reduce injury risk.

THE LIVE BRIGHT JOURNEY

Every journey will be unique and everything is 100% individualised to meet your needs. However, this is a general idea of what you can expect at Live Bright Physiotherapy.

STEP 1: ASSESSMENT

Your first appointment will involve a thorough initial assessment conducted by a physiotherapist. This will involve a subjective interview where we will ask you everything we need to know to help you. Then you will be taken through a physical assessment and movement analysis relating to your presenting complaint

STEP 2: INTERVENTION

In your session, you may receive some hands on treatment such as massage, dry needling/acupuncture, manual therapy etc. to assist with pain relief. However, at Live Bright Physiotherapy, we believe movement is medicine and our go to treatment is an individualised rehabilitation/exercise plan to target any weakness, tightness and movement dysfunction. Don’t worry, we won’t give you a million random exercises that you won’t want to do.

STEP 3: EDUCATION

Understanding what is going on and why is fundamental in helping you recover. If you know why we are prescribing certain exercises it will make it that much easier to stick to them. No question is a silly one.

STEP 4: MOVE

This bit is up to you. After your session, you will be given an individualised exercise program and now it’s time for you to execute and reap the rewards.

STEP 5: FOLLOW UP

Whilst we love our clients, our goal is to get you to the point that they don’t need us anymore. Depending on your circumstance will depend on how often and how many times we need to see you, but if we recommend another session, it’s for your benefit, not ours, we promise!
